With a career spanning four decades Ron Tremper has become well-known as a pioneer in herpetoculture. During his tenure at the Fresno Zoo, as Curator of Reptiles, he was the recipient of the American Zoo Association First Breeding Award for the Santa Catalina Island Rattlesnake, (Crotalus catalinensis), and the New Zealand green gecko, (Naultinus elegans).
Recognized worldwide as the foremost authority on leopard geckos, he has been responsible for many of the most popular color, size and pattern morphs. 2012 marks the production of Ron’s thirty-fourth generation of unbroken bloodlines in leopard geckos and the resulting debut of his most recent masterwork, Leopard Geckos: the Next Generations
Ron and his wife, Marilyn, own the Center of Reptile and Amphibian Propagation located in the beautiful Hill Country near San Antonio, Texas where they also produce corn, king, milk and hognose snakes, ball pythons, sand boas, bearded dragons, spotted turtles and cherry-head redfoot tortoises for the global marketplace.
