There is an event coming this next weekend that anyone interested in reptiles should attend. The entire team of the Reptile Apartment Group will of course be there. Now if you live in San Diego and have somehow managed to avoid seeing the billboards that have been around the county, we are speaking of the Reptile Super Show happening on June 18-19th at the San Diego Concourse Civic Center. Not only is this show larger than the ‘famous’ Daytona Show, but there is a special feature this year: some of the top people in the industry will be sharing their knowledge about reptiles, amphibians, breeding, and a lot more, during the Reptile Talks on June 17th. The best thing is that it’s completely free! So not only will we get an incredible education on reptile and amphibian care, but we will also get a special sneak preview of the show before it’s even open to the public. Chris Anderson will be talking about chameleons, and Mike Ready (a Joseph Lazlo Memorial Award recipient) will be discussing the captive care of Rhacophorid frogs, just to mention a couple highlights.
We’ve been attending all the Reptile Super Shows recently, and they get consistently better with each show. With every show there are new morphs and species that we have never seen. The promoter seemingly ups the ante with the breeders for each of these events, and they answer the challenge by bringing out their most stunning reptiles. Plus, looking at the vendor list, this looks to be the biggest show yet.
While I haven’t spoken with any breeders personally about what they are bringing to the Reptile Super Show, I have heard mention of some exciting things which might be making their debut appearance. Whether you want to celebrate Father’s Day in a new way, or simply want to check out the hottest thing in reptiles, I can personally guarantee you a phenomenal time when you attend the Reptile Super Show.
