This “misinformation” could be derived from packaging which is the manufacturers fault. But the blame is not solely on the manufacturer. The consumer should also be held responsible as it should be their priority to research products prior to buying them. Some blame should be placed on the sales person of the stores that carry such products and who do not properly inform the buyer prior to purchase.
All of the Bearded Dragon species are included in the family Agamidae which includes other popular species such as Uromastyx, Chinese Water Dragons Physignathus cocincinus, and even the Frilled Lizard Chlamydosaurus kingii. In the genus of Pogona, there are a total of 7 species.
When it comes to lighting reptiles I don’t think there has ever been a bigger debate. Everyone says their product is the best. Ultraviolet light is something that is naturally emitted by the suns rays which strike the earth. Almost all reptile species; especially those that eat only insects and or greens in my experience obtain some benefit from absorbing Ultraviolet light if they are a daytime active reptile.
